Universidad de Carolina del Este
East Carolina University (ECU) is one of the largest universities in North Carolina, ECU offers a wide array of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. Known for its health sciences, education, and business programs, ECU plays a vital role in the Greenville community and provides numerous opportunities for local students. ECU is also the only university in North Carolina with a medical school, a dental school, and a college of engineering.

The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is a national leader in family medicine. According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, the school ranked first in North Carolina and second nationwide. The North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians reports that no other medical school in North Carolina - and only one other in the nation - has produced a higher percentage of family physicians in the last decade. In addition, nearly half (48 percent) of Brody graduates are actively practicing in North Carolina, a significantly higher percentage than any other North Carolina medical school.
