USA Today ranks Greenville as the third best city to move to in North Carolina

In a recent study by USA Today Homefront, Greenville was ranked as the third best city to move to in North Carolina. The study looked at the southeast region which is noted as the fasted growing region in the south. Researchers ranked 209 cities in the southeast region and rated cities based on low crime rates, fair costs of living, resilience to severe weather and other key benefits for new residents.

Concord ranked first in North Carolina, followed by Asheville, with Greenville as the third best. Nationally, Greenville ranked 23rd out of the 209 cities that were evaluated.

Here are a few points to note where Greenville performs remarkably well:

  • Regional Price Parity: 89.5
    • Greenville’s regional price parity is much lower than the other cities North Carolina cities ranked in this study
  • Home Value to Income Ratio: 4.78
    • Out of the North Carolina cities that were ranked in the Top 100 nationally, Greenville has the best home value to income ratio
  • Typical Home Value: $239,422
    • Greenville’s typical home value is lower than both Concord and Asheville
  • Typical Rent: $1,465
    • Out of the North Carolina cities that were ranked in the Top 100 nationally, Greenville has the lowest typical rent
